I'm Seretha Mills, currently the CEO and Founder of BigMouth ConnectEd LLC and BigMouth ConnectEd Foundation Inc. My Story
With over 20 years of experience in elementary education, I've worn many hats—spanning classroom teaching, instructional coaching, and community building across various school districts. My career has been defined by a commitment to enhancing educational and operational performance, fostering strong connections with families, and driving continuous improvement.
However, my transition from the classroom to consulting was catalyzed by the challenges educators faced during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. As schools shifted abruptly to virtual learning, teachers were left to navigate a new, unfamiliar landscape with little support. When schools reopened, the situation only worsened; educators were expected to manage increased workloads without adequate mental health support. The lack of resources and support for addressing mental health concerns and the added pressures on teachers highlighted a critical gap.
Recognizing the urgent need for comprehensive support for educators, I founded BigMouth ConnectEd LLC and BigMouth ConnectEd Foundation Inc. to address these issues. My mission through these organizations is to provide targeted professional development, mental health support, and advocacy for teachers, students, and families. My approach is rooted in collaboration and aims to equip educators with the tools and support necessary to thrive in a challenging environment, ultimately improving student outcomes.
Additionally, I am proud to be a member of the Sigma Omega Omega graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., further reflecting my commitment to service and community engagement.
